The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized

I have one particular user getting this message when he accesses the GP Lists.

“The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized” . He gets this error on every workstation. He however does not get the error when the Domain Administrator logs on to his workstation and he logs into GP with his GP credentials. He is an Administrator on his machine.

Any suggestions? I have even made him Domain Admin but the issue persists.

    Keith,

Can you provide more detail regarding what this user is trying to view?

Since this action works for other users, it's probably security settings specific to that user.  If the attempt is to view srs reports, you must give the user access to the reports (via Reports Manager or SharePoint depending on deployment) and in SQL (via assigning a rpt_* role).

    Thanks

    Rob

If you have recently deployed Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services, your user may be blocked to a variety of security issues.  The following link talks about the Kerberos solution to the security matter.

I seem to recall that this happens when the data location for the reports is moved, or the share is changed. The user may not be part of a specifically formed Security Group - that is my personal favorite - and one that I have had to battle with a few DBA / and Active Directory crazy people (just kidding, they are not that bad)

    Hope this helps.
