Hi,
On the user settings list, there is a default company field.  When a new user is created, a company is defaulted into that field. Does anyone know how BC chooses which company to put in as the default company when a user is created?
Thanks for any help you can offer!
Dave.

Hi, If the user has not been synchronized to BC, you can try the following method.

If the user has been synchronized to BC, modify the user's default company in User Settings.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Thanks for your reply Yun Zhu. I'm not sure it really answers my question though. A bit more background might help.

The reason I ask is that we have a customer with two companies. They synchronize a new user to BC and assign them permissions for Company A. When the new user logs in to BC it is opening company B by default and then erroring because they have no permissions in that company.

I can see on user settings their default company is set to company B. What I don't understand is why BC has chosen company B as the default company for the new user. Does anyone know the logic BC users when assigning a default company to a new user?

Hi, I'm not sure, did the user bookmark the URL containing the company name and then directly open the company?
    For example,
I think it's a good idea to let users try the following link:

The user was actually using the mobile client, so there is no opportunity to select or specify a company before getting the error. I will keep trying to find out what logic BC is using to select a default company and update here is I have any luck.
