Kiosk mode with store commerce app

Most customers we work with want to set the app to run in Kiosk mode for the POS workstation. I am seeing that Kiosk mode is limited to Microsoft store or UWP apps. Is there another way to manage assigned access to this particular application on a POS terminal?

    Hi Nicholas,

    Even we are exploring this, but Microsoft currently do not support it.

    We are exploring in-house and shall let you know you when we manage to achieve this.

    Following is the response from Microsoft support -

    1. Reg. the question whether there are plans to support a locked down Kiosk mode, the answer is:

    Not at this time, and there’s currently no plan to support. This may change in the future.

    2. Reg. a potential alternative approach to use the current implementation of Store Commerce App in such a scenario, the following statement was provided:

    This should be supported through Windows, but it is not a scenario that we plan to add enhanced support for in the short term. I did find this additional doc from the Windows team with provides a bit more detail on how to setup a Kiosk app using a Windows desktop application.

    I have been trying this as well.   We currently use MPOS in kiosk mode, but we are excited to use the new Sore Commerce app for it's increased performance.   However we are not able to as it now does not support a kiosk mode in any way.   I've tried using a provisioning package, and Shell Launcher with no success.   learn.microsoft.com/.../kiosk-shelllauncher  

    If Microsoft would please support it, we would be able to use it.

    Nicholas, sounds good.  I'm not giving up. :-)    With shell launcher, I have been able to get the app to start, but are unable to log in.   If I start explorer.exe, it all works, but that then of course starts the desktop.  Not acceptable.   I've not been able to find the extra needed process to make it all work.    We use AAD for logging in, so that might be part of our issue.   

    Our two big wishes are Store Commerce as Kiosk, and having offline available for AAD login.   Currently that's not supported either.    I understand for logging in, AAD / internet access is needed, but for the times where the store is logged in, and the internet goes out for a bit...  

    I'll keep working on seeing if we can make SC work in kiosk, and I'll post here if I find any workable salutation.

    Just wanting to bump this back up the to top again to see if anyone has been able to make the Store Commerce app work in a kiosk mode.    We'd love to switch to it, but just not able to until we can run it in this way.  I've spent quite a bit of time trying several ways but have been unsuccessful.  :-(

    Just wanted to try to bump this again to the top to see if anyone is running the store commerce app as a kiosk.   I've been unsuccessful in getting it to work.  Or from anyone from Microsoft, any plans on making this work.
