Management Reporter 2012 Connection attempt failed.

I installed the server portion of MR 2012 and it appears to be OK.  When I try to run the recently installed client portion on my PC, I am getting this message:  "Connection attempt failed.  User does not have appropriate permissions to connect to the server.  Contact your system administrator".  I am a domain admin, so I have permissions to the server.  Is there some other place that I have to set up my network credentials?

    Hi Marsha,

    This error will usually happen if the user trying to run MR has not been set up as a user in MR yet.  You can check this by running these queries against the MR database:

    select * from SecurityPrincipal

    select * from SecurityUser

    The users listed here are users set up in MR and will be able to log into MR.  If your user is not listed in this table, you will not be able to start MR and log in.  If you are not sure of the user ID you are currently logged into the computer as, you can open a command prompt and type whoami

    The user ID returned here must be in the SecurityPrincipal and SecurityUser tables.
