Running a report that is modified copy of an existing report in CRM gives an rsprocessingaborted error

Hi Guys

I am trying to run a CRM report (SSRS report) that is a modification of an existing custom report.  The original report works perfectly.  The new report, which has only had one field added to it, gives an error - rsprocessingaborted.

The report has uploaded without issue.

The report runs in the Visual Studio preview successfully.

I have tried giving the report a new GUID, by creating a guid and adding it using Visual Studio to edit the rdl file.  This new report gives the same error.

With thanks

Gill

    Hi Gill,

Are you using CRM on Premise or Online?

If your on premise, can you access the Reporting Server?  If so, if you have a look in Event Viewer, Windows Logs>Application

That may give you a pointer to what is happening.

Thanks Bharat - fortunately this client is on premise.

I'll look in the report server and let you know.

    Hi Bharat

This is what I see in the Event Log

Whenever I run this troublesome report I seem to get 4 iterations of error 108 – see below

Error 2/06/2016 22:38 Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER) 107 Management

Error 27/06/2016 9:42 Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) 108 Extension

Error 27/06/2016 9:42 Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) 108 Extension

Error 27/06/2016 9:42 Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) 108 Extension

Error 27/06/2016 9:42 Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) 108 Extension

Error 23/06/2016 12:43 Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) 108 Extension

When I look at the error in more detail I see "Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the TERADATA extension".

What is the TERADATA Extension, and how do I confirm that this is loaded?  Or is this a red Herring?

    With thanks

    Hi All

I've been doing some more work.  I've found jandho.blogspot.com.au/.../report-server-cannot-load-teradata.html which refers to an earlier version of SQL than this server is running.

However, my question relating to this, is "do we need the TERADATA Extension to run (custom) reports in CRM 2013?

The original version of this report and all other reports seem to be running perfectly.

    With thanks

I think that may be a red herring if all the other reports loading up correctly?

If you download the report (working one) and make a change to it, just move some cells around, then upload it back to CRM, does it work?

You say you added a field to the report, did you add the field to the datasource and select it from the filtered view?

Unfortunately, its a bit of trial and error to get to the root of the issue

Gill, what version of Visual Studio are you using?

RE: Running a report that is modified copy of an existing report in CRM gives an rsprocessingaborted error

    Thanks Bharat

I'm using Visual Studio 2012.  And for completeness, it is SQL 2014 and CRM 2013 (on prem).

Following on from your previous suggestion, I have just re-downloaded the original, working report and re-uploaded with no changes, but with a new name (referral form - redownloaded).  This works as expected.

So my next steps are to start with this report and make the required edit (fortunately, the required edit is small, and my previous attempt has worked out the logic, so this should not be too hard) gradually checking as I go to pick out where the error is coming from.

    Thank you for your help.

    With thanks

    Gill
