Get the Item Unit of Measure conversion from Business Central to Dynamics CRM using custom integration.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi Expert

So from what I understand when we do out-of-the-box integration BC Unit of Measure and Common Data Service Unit Group gets synched.

But if we see the "Item unit of measure" of BC Item which is coupled with CRM Product we see the unit of measure conversions in Business central but not in the CRM Product, see below screenshots.

Now I want to synch the unit of measure conversion which are in BC "Item unit of measure table" with the "Unit" entity in Common Data Service to get the item unit of measure conversions in CRM side. Please correct me if i am wrong and also guide me on how it can be done?

    Hello,

In table 27 in BC, there is ItemUnitOfMeasure. You need to figure out if it should go to CRM Product or CRM UoM.

    More information here:

    Thanks.

    Hi Marco

I do understand that out of the box integration does not support what I have described, but is there a way to develop custom integration with Common Data Service to synchronize Business central "Item unit of measures" with Common Data Service.

    Hello,

I did setup an integration between BC v170 and CDS/CRM. After performing a full synch, the results are like this:

The default out of the box Units of Measures have been synched successfully.

So I did create a new one:

After creating a new Item in BC and after synchronizing the record to a product in CRM, the following result:

Looking at integration table mapping, I do not see if there is a support for what you describe.

You may want to raise this via a feature request as I think that this is a good addition: https://aka.ms/bcideas .

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I do have a task scheduled for a few other postings to setup an internal repro and then come back to you after I am done. I will add this posting to the list.

    Thanks.
