New to the Community and would like to become a Functional Consultant in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations

Hi All,

Just introducing myself as I am new to the Community.

I'm currently working as a Financial Accountant (based in the United Kingdom) and I'd like to make a career change to become a Functional Consultant in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations however first I want to find out more about the reality of the role (good and bad) as well as get an inside view of the challenges and opportunities, both for the job itself and the industry.

Is this the right place to ask any questions I've got in relation to this as well as certifications?

I'd also like to use this opportunity to connect with other people on LinkedIn to expand my network.

Many thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    HI and Welcome,

This is a very subjective topic as will depend of the experience of each person. You will find many good and bad things on a position like this depending on many variables. This is a community to discuss topics related to product (yes this is the place were top consultants are) rather than opinions (maybe in the forum).

What I can suggest is to do an open position search on Linked and you will realize international prices for Junior and Senior consultants, also there are a lot of partners willing to sponsor your training and preparation as a Consultant.

    Hi David,

Many thanks for your response. I agree, it's a very subjective topic. I just want to get to know and truly understand the industry and role I'd like to move into so that I can create my focused career switch plan accordingly. This is why I am reaching out and trying to talk to the people who have real experience of it and also expand my network at the same time as it's absolutely crucial. I just wasn't sure if this is the right forum to discuss these things hence why I asked the question.

I'll take a look around in other forums and delve into job descriptions on LinkedIn too.
