Hi Community,

I'm starting a new Bank reconciliation in a new company.

In Bank Reconciliation, the Balance Last Statement and the Statement Ending Balance is 0.00, may I know how can I retrieve the correct number here if this is the first time i'm doing Bank Reconciliation?

Please show me the step by step to get the number if possible.

Thank you.

    Hello,

Balance Last Statement = This represents the balance from the last posted bank reconciliation in the BC. The system will automatically retrieve this balance. But if you are doing first time Bank Reconciliation Process then you can Manually Enter the same.
Statement Ending Balance = This is the ending balance of the current bank reconciliation, reflecting the bank statement's ending balance.

    Lets take an Example.

Currently i am doing the Bank Reconciliation for the Month of January 2026.

Balance Last Statement = Balance based on Last Posted Bank Reconciliation i.e. Statement Ending Balance as on 31-12-2025. But if you are doing first time Bank Reconciliation Process then you can Manually Enter the Balance of Bank Statement as on 31-12-2025.

And Statement Ending Balance = Bank Statement Ending Balance as on 31-01-2026.

I Hope your query will be resolved.

I don't have a last posted bank reconciliation because this is the first time i am doing bank recon in a new company.

So if I never did a bank recon before, I don't think I will have a last posted Bank Reconciliation. if you can advise.

    Thank you !

    Hi,

If this is your first time, you'll need to manually enter the amount and ensure that your balance matches the GL balance associated with the bank account. For example, if the last statement balance from the old system is $10,000, the GL balance linked to the bank account should also be $10,000

    Thanks
    Ramesh

As mentioned, the first time you do a bank rec. you can manually populate that field.

Hi, From the code, it is taken from the Balance Last Statement field on the bank card.

    Hope this helps as well.
    Thanks.
