I am on CRM 365 on-premise version v8.2 with a strange scenario where I was setting up a Business Rule. I want to add a check on an Option Set field which is using a Global Option Set, as follows

Option Set Field Details

Name: oi_opportunitytype
Schema Name: oi_OpportunityType
Display Name: xxOpportunity Type

Global Option Set Details

When I am trying to use the field (xxOpportunity Type) I a Business Rule I could not see the Options as below.

for the record there is another field using the same Global Option set and is working fine. I tried deleting it and recreating it with the same name but the issue still persist.

Any help on this would be appreciated greatly.

    Hi Abdul,

My reply would seem a bit late but this might help you (and others) in the future: we encountered this error as well. It turns out that if the option set has the same name as the entity you're applying the field to, this issue happens with the business rule.

Is the field you're using the same name as your entity?

    Thanks

    Thanks Iswarya,

I have created a new global option set for that field. No luck !

I tried specifying the options of that field. No luck !

I tried deleting the field and recreating it with same name. No luck !

    Hi Abdul,

i tried your scenario , its working fine in Dynamics 365 online version. i would suggest delete history and recreate global optionset (Don't forget to publish) and Business role.

Any suggestions why is this happening, as i am still stuck with this and the weirdest part is it is not working only for that name and I cannot use another name,

any directions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Abdul,

I want to confirm one last thing.

When you open advanced find we're you able to apply filter on this optionset.

    Thanks

I did it, i.e. delete the old filed and recreate it with the same name again but the issue still persist. I also tried it on IE but unfortunately no Luck

    Hi Abdul,

Please try and see if this workaround helps.

Do try in a different browser.

    Thanks
