Hello All,

Have a question that I would love some help with. We have taken over an office location. Different domain then us, but now affiliated. I have installed dynamics on a users computer and can get to the server. We have a t1 coming to our office that handles internal traffic. I can login as sa and users already created fine from their desktop. When I go to login as them I get the error login attempt failed, login again or contact your system admin. From our dynamics server i can open up gp and login fine as them. Any ideas on this?

Thanks,

Joey

I would verify the ODBC connection being used on the machines that are having the connection issue.  This can be accessed from Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Data Source (ODBC).  The procedure may be somewhat different depending if the client machine is a 32 or 64 bit machine as GP uses a 32 bit connection.

I would think based on your post that the server name differs in the ODBC on the client machine vs the server where the users were probably added.  Here is a post where a similar issue was encountered.

The server name in the ODBC connection must be the exact server name, case sensitive, as the password encryption uses the server name in the encryption algorithm, otherwise the login will fail.  This is why you can login as that user on the server but not the client.  Also, the server name should be the same in all client ODBCs.

That was it! Thanks for the help.
