Automatic Bank Statement Import - MFA

(0) ShareShare

I had Automatic Bank Statement Import working in Business Central prior to setting up MFA on my Azure AD account. Now I get the message:

"Cannot setup automatic bank statement import because selected bank requires multi-factor authentication."

I am using Envestnet Yodlee. How to get support?

Oops, I am answering my own question. Payment Reconciliation works. Once I started the process a text message from the bank with a code appears on my phone. Then the import works.

    Hi Steve,

I was wondering if you could share with me how you actually go about automating the MT940 statement load into D365? I am working with a client who are new to Adv Bank Rec functionality and currently are relying on a flat MT940 txt file to be emailed to them and manually uploading the file in D365 - is there a way of getting it loaded Directly into the ERP from the banks SWIFT platform? or possibly scheduling it into Azure and loaded that way through Data Management?

Your insight and advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hi Luciano,

I am sorry that I don't know about the SWIFT import of the MT940 file. I set up the Envestnet Yodlee app (which comes with BC) and I linked my bank account to it. You can link multiple bank accounts. Then I searched in BC for Payment Reconciliation Journal. Then I chose Process->Import Bank Transactions. Once connected to my bank (PNC) it asked me to enter a security code they texted. (I have MFA set up for BC and all Office apps). The transactions were imported. That said the AI in BC tries to apply them, but gets them wrong half the time.

If you don't have a bank that will work with Envestnet Yodlee, then you can simply load your Excel file directly to the Bank Reconciliation Journal Page, if you choose Page->Edit in Excel. The columns in your MT940 file will be different, but copy and paste the relevant ones, then Publish back to BC. Must have Office 365.

Sorry, but this is all I know.

    Regards,

    Hi Steve,

No worries - thank you for the response - I misunderstood how you were using the MFA. Thanks anyway..
