Recording Opportunity Estimated Close Date

Our sales director wants to be able to view every time a change is made to the estimated close date so if the date keeps pushing out he will tell the sales person to concentrate on other deals rather than the one where the date keeps pushing out.

I created a custom basic custom entity and workflow that will record each date change to Estimated Close Date.

I want to know if it is possible when it creates the record to add the current date and then the new date so it would show two dates the date it was at and then the date they moved it to - I then want to do a calculation on field to show the difference in number of days.

I have can easily add in the new date / when the field is changed but I don't know how to record the original date is this at all possible?

Thank you

    Hi Robin,

    Use following steps.

    1) create field (single line of text) "Last entry record id" or something in opportunity .

    2) custom entity you've already created create field exit date on custom entity

    .

    3) now in your custom workflow when opportunity gets created create custom entity record and put guid of that record in field "Last entity record id" of opportunity. Entity.

    4) now next time when workflow executes first get record. From "last entity record" end put end date as current date.. And create another custom entity record and put guid of that record on opportunity.

    Regards,

    Hi Robin,

You can also go with plugin (PreImage functionality).

On update of Estimated Close date you can trigger the plugin and Throw PreImage functionality you will easily get original date value before modified.

    Hope this will help you.
