Hi, I have a question about COA. So, when running the macro, how can I select fields for radio buttons like whether it is a P&L account or B/S account? I mean I say type field so and so in place of description and category but I do not know how to deal with this situation. The system give me like  - MoveTo field 'Posting TYpe' item 0 # ' Balance Sheet'

How to insert this field in the above statement to choose from P&L account and B/S accounts radio buttons.. please suggest?

    John,

Enter a P&L account, and record the act of changing the radio button in your macro. Then you can use the resultant text for your P&L Accounts.

    Hell John,

A predefined Excel-based Macro Generator will be published soon on Dynamics GP Essentials blog as part of the macro essentials series.

If you are in urgent need, send me an e-mail and I will send you the Macro Generator, all you need to do is to fill in your chart, and generate a macro.

    Mahmoud,

This sounds like something I should include in my 'free for GP' session. Let me know leslievail@earthlink.net

    John,

Doing this requires a little finesse. You need to organize your accounts so that they are grouped together. The 'MoveTo field 'Posting Type' item 0 # Balance Sheet', presumes the value of the radio group is 1. You'll need to create your mail-merge macro and then change the value of the macro on the transition item. When the 'MoveTo' command is executed, the field needs to be on the old value. Then you change this one statement to the new value and from then on it's the new value until you change it again. An easier option is just to hit the Clear button between accounts so that you do not have to deal with any existing values saved from the last account. The screen is refreshed after each addition.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    John,

If you do not have integration manager (the easy way to do this). Why not create a .csv or .tab file and upload it using the Table Import Utility. You would just update the value you wanted the radio group to be and wouldn't have to deal with a macro. That's the way I would do it. It's easier to set up and incredibly fast.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
