Can I upgrade Dynamics 365 9 to 9.1?

I am currently running a Dynamics 365 version 1612 (9.0.43.6) on-premises. I wonder if it is possible to upgrade it to version 9.1 by installing the updates available at:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/microsoft-dynamics-365-on-premises-cumulative-updates-ed51f905-cf4e-3641-dc7c-afe2b868eeb9

Any thoughts?

    Hi pmdci,

    Normally, the link you provide will not apply the update until you already have the corresponding version,

    If you have successfully installed version 9.0, you can use this link to upgrade:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/dynamics-365-server-service-pack-1-version-9-1-cf784c7a-76ca-4e61-9aeb-2be9ac4a8b7d

    (Version 9.1 is a service Pack)

    Thank you for this. If I understand correctly, I can upgrade 9.0.43.6 with 9.1 by running the service pack. Then after the Service Pack, I will be able to install the Cumulative Updates on top of 9.1. Am I right?

    EDIT: Attempting to update DB will fail. So I'd say that trying to upgrade from 9.0.43.6 to 9.1 is not going to work.

    By the way Dynamics 365 9.x is probably the buggiest and messiest version of Dynamics I ever came across.
