We purchased Microsoft RMS 2.0. I want to enter our previously sold gift certificates into the database. These gift certificates have not been redeemed. I want to be able to redeem them using RMS.
The majority of the GC were sold in 2011 or earlier. Is there a way I can do this (without affecting the 2012 sales)?
I tried setting up Gift Certificates in the items and listing the voucher as "sold" but when try to redeem it it says the "voucher number was not found".
I don't see where there is an option to change the date of a transaction, or else I would backdate the GC to a 2011 date then resell them.
The GC we use are paper form, they are not Gift Cards. Once we are up and running we plan to have it set up so we enter the dollar amount in the POS and we hand fill out a paper gift certificate. I have already set this part up, but don't know how to set up previously sold ones (which are not redeemed).
We also use paper form Credit Vouchers and have the same situation were we have issued CV but they have not been redeemed.
Appreciate any suggestions!

I have the same question (0)Hello Diana,
Thank you for your questions.
What version of RMS do you have installed? This is important. Please check by:
1. Open Store Operations Administrator
2. Click on Help | About Store Operations Administrator
If you have Version 2.0.0150 or greater installed, Vouchers are not sales. They are accounted for as liabilities, and rightly so.
Follow these steps to set up your gift certificates:
How to Create, Sell, and Redeem a Voucher in Store Operations
https://mbs.microsoft.com/knowledgebase/KBDisplay.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;859848
Once they have been set up correctly, you could "sell" the unredeemed gift certificates with the same voucher numbers as the ones you had sold with your old system.
Let us know if you have any other questions.
