How do you change a company's functional currency mid-year?

We have a company set up in GP where the functional currency is Canadian dollars. Our Finance department would like to change the functional currency to US at the end of the month. How do we go about doing this?

At the same time we want to stop transacting in all other currencies as well.

Any suggestions?

The short answer: You don't.

After selecting a functional currency and transacting with it, it's permanent.

Hi Jenn,

As Tim mentioned, the functional currency cannot be changed once you have used it. The only option available would be to create a new company and bring in beginning balances to the new company. No small undertaking to be certain.
