Business Central Aged Receivables report in Power BI

ReportReport
Posted on by 133
Hi

I need some help to create a Aged Receivables report  as at a given date in Power BI with additional aged buckets. The user should be able to specify the date get this report. e.x. The user should be able to get a Aged Receivables report as at 31.03.2025

I'm able to produce the same data as the Aged AR report when looking at the Customer Ledger Entries table and applying the filters as shown below. What BC tables  should I connect in Power BI to produce this report where user will have the ability specify the date like 31/03/2023 below . Not sure how the date filter is working in BC

I do I connect this filtered data to the Power BI dashboard so that I can create my own AR report with the required aged buckets

Appreciate some help

I have the same question (0)

    Hi,

There is no need for your to customize this report in Power BI, while it is already available in standard out of the box Power BI finance app.

These reports support back dating as well and custom buckets. If let's say this does not satisfy your purpose, you can copy and use them for custom report.

    Hello ,

That date filter in Customer Ledger Entries is a FlowFilter (“Date Filter”) that recalculates FlowFields like Remaining Amt. (LCY) “as of” the selected date, so you can’t replicate it in Power BI by only filtering rows in Customer Ledger Entry; you need to model the same logic using Customer Ledger Entry + Detailed Customer Ledger Entry + a Date table/slicer, then build measures that apply postingDate <= selected AsOfDate on the detailed entries to compute the open/remaining balance “as at” the slicer date, and finally bucket by due date (or document date) into whatever aging buckets you want—this is also the same table combo Microsoft calls out for its own finance Power BI content around customer ledger/receivables.

Hi, This is a special filter on BC that, as far as I know, cannot be added using external tools such as Power BI.
Dynamics 365 Business Central: How to set a default “Filter totals by” (FlowFilters) on lists
Additionally, if you publish this standard page to a web service and access it from Power BI, this practice will be unavailable next year.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

Is there a way to add additional aged buckets to the standard report , the standard report has 4 aged buckets can I add two more buckets , if no how can I copy the out of box report and add additional buckets

When I tried to connect tables from BC in Power BI desktop  , I see the Customer ledger entries table , but don't see an option to connect to the detailed Customer Ledger entries table, appreciate some help here

This modification of the standard report you need to do in Power BI. I've limited understanding on how that will work. It's better to ask this question in Power BI Community here - https://community.fabric.microsoft.com/t5/Power-BI-forums/ct-p/powerbi
