Currently my users make the basic sales shipment through the sales order, but I am trying to come up with ways of modernizing & upgrading my warehouse process to include barcoding & auto shipping charge quoting through a 3rd party cartonziation app.
Here is what I am thinking of the new flow:
- User creates Warehouse shipment from SO Document
- Cartonization & Freight charges are calculated from 3rd party app here
- User creates pick
- Pick gets released to Warehouse user
- Warehouse user uses scanner to register pick lines
- Pick is fulfilled then brought to packing / shipment station.
- Packing / Shipping Station user posts the shipment & invoice
The points that I'm having trouble wrapping my head around are 5 & 7.
for 5. is there a recommended app that I can use for this?
and for point 7, how can i automatically include the shipping charge so that it is posted automatically in the invoice ?
I would also want labels to be printed automatically when the shipment is posted and for the tracking to be updated. Just wondering what the best way would be to achieve this.
