AsyncOperationBase table - 3.5GB, 1.8 million rows

Hi everyone,

I am working with a customer that has issues with the size of their Dynamics 365 Online environment and looking at the Operations Insights data one culprit is the AsyncOperationBase table which is consuming a significant amount of space in the environment. Microsoft discusses the ability to purge this table with the following: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/968520/performance-is-slow-if-the-asyncoperationbase-table-becomes-too-large but this is for on premises environments vs. online.

Any ideas other than opening a case with Microsoft and asking for their assistance to purge?

Hi Drew, First step will be to prevent continuous accumulation of System jobs which can be done by ensuring plugins and workflow is set to delete the job after completions and by fixing any failing jobs you might have in CRM.

For deletion of old jobs, you may try deleting it using Bulk deletes but that often ends up in error.

Alan Mervitz has written a detailed Blog on how to troubleshoot and delete the old system jobs.
