How to create .Net application or custom CRM integrated application solution and make this as managed/unmanaged solution to import into Dynamics CRM which gets loaded in CRM as an integrated application.

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

We are using Dynamics CRM 2016 online and we are using one third party (other vendor) software or php application for adding products into the quote entity. This application gives much step by step details about the product to the CRM end user. The vendor has created this custom application and imported this application as unmanaged solution into the CRM which gets loaded in quote entity if we go from quote associated entity navigation. I'd like to create such custom .Net application and want to import this as a solution in CRM which gets loaded in CRM as a integrated application, can anyone please help me in this how to achieve this. For reference purpose, I have attached current CRM project integrated solution what I explained above. First is quote image and second image is when we go to add product from navigation which  loads custom application on the screen. Please do the needful.

Then you'll need to go with javascript and HTML5, no other way to do it. I thought that you said that this app is in PHP, if that's true, it must be hosted somewhere. If that was just a guess, then I'm 100% sure this is HTML5 + Javascript

as per the screenshot what I have shared, here vendor have created managed solution and imported that solution and then this custom application is appearing in the quote associated entity navigation and when we click on that then this application gets loaded in qoute entity. Also, if we use iframe then application should be hosted on some server and that too with https certificate and no client gets easily ready for this to invest money.

If you don't want to create HTML5 web resource, then the other way to go is simply creating a website (ASP .NET would be probably your choice) and put it as an iframe inside CRM (which is probably the way how the vendor did what you have on your screenshot)

Hi, Well in that case you need to find a third party vendor who can provide the exact functionality. Custom .Net application cannot be loaded inside CRM as far as I know.

Another option would be to have a web application hosted on Azure which you can call on click of a dynamics crm ribbon button.

Sorry for being late to respond.

Thanks Pranav, but if we use HTML5 web resources then we need to do lot of Javascript coding and that would be much difficult to achieve the things. I am looking for a custom .Net application that can be loaded in CRM environment.

    Hi Wasim,

There could be multiple ways of achieving this.

one quick way I can think of is to have HTML5 components created which can neatly merge inside the Dynamic CRM environment. These custom web resources (html5) can be bundled in a manage solution for distribution. You can also include custom entities for configuration required for these components to work properly.

-You can have custom dashboards (having these web resources) for customized reporting.

We have used this kind of solutions in many of our projects previously.
