I have tried installing the DocuSign solution on my trial instance but I am unable to do so. Is it because its not installable in the trial instance?

The trial has limited rights. You can only explore some features to evaluate the look and feel and ease of use. You could check the following screenshot for reference.
1. Sandbox Instance Solution Management
2. Trial Type Instance
