Manually adding contacts to Dynamics CRM

I was wondering if it is possible to add new contacts to CRM as a non-live or 'signed off' version. My manager needs to sign off on all manual contact entries to CRM before they are added and at this point I am just doing it through excel.

    You can use data import feature of CRM. Download template for bulk importing contacts in CRM.

    Go to settings-> Data Management -> Templates for Data Import -> select contact from dropdown provided and download and populate data.

    For contact to be in “sign off” mode, you can deactivate imported contacts on creation. This can be achieved using simple workflow. Create workflow that will trigger on create contact event and add step to “change status” to Inactive.

    Note: Remember to deactivate workflow after import & deactivate operation is completed.

    You can use outlook CRM add-in.

    In which if you are offline and you create any contact or any thing via outlook.

    Whenever it gets connectivity synchronization will happen.

    Hope this will work for you too.
