Hello,

Microsoft give us 3 months to test the new IAAS Azure, allowing to create server or download VMs.

Is it possible to install CRM 2011 ON premise on it ?

Best regards

CS

You can check this blog post from Shan McArthur he explains it realy well how you can achieve that.

From a technical standpoint, it's clearly possible.  But is it supported?  I can't seem to find the answer to that question.

The question to ask is does AZURE support SQL SERVER within a hosted VM?

The last I heard was that they will officially support this offering in June, but see what else you can find out. Given hat Dynamics CRM c2011 OnPremise depends on SQL Server that is the factor.

Given that comment, I know that there has been some success with CRM v2011 running in a VM on Azure

No information that I have heard indicates that this is supported. Until otherwise explicitly communicated so by Microsoft I would not perceive it as supported.

I finally found some info that clarified the supportability:

    support.microsoft.com/.../2721672

    support.microsoft.com

In short, Microsoft SQL Server is supported in a Windows Azure Virtual Machine; however, Dynamics CRM is not currently supported.

I have not tried IaaS but just for tips I am running a single VM, using VMWARE.

If you are installing all prerequisites on one VM, the trick is to install and configure SQL server before you do the DCPROMO.

Based on my personal knowledge Running Microsoft CRM on Windows Azure Virtual Machines (IaaS Platform) is not a supported product yet. For technical testing/eval purpose you sure can install in on a single Virtual Machines and test it.

The link below shows a list of support Microsoft Products on Windows Azure Virtual Machines:
