MS Dynamics SL AGM Source & Destination Account Linkage

Good afternoon,

Our organization was recently trying to configure our Allocation Groups via the Allocation Group Maintenance screen in MS Dynamics SL. We have various Contra Accounts (CA) set up to which we want to allocate costs, to maintain GL integrity. However, we are having trouble configuring our source and destination accounts.

To provide an example, imagine we have the following amount source allocations, source CA, and source CA sub-accounts:

SOURCE

Amount - Account - Subaccount

$5000 - 1000 - 99000101000

$6000 - 1100 - 99000101000

$7000 - 1200 - 99000101000

We then wish to take those source allocations, and move them into the following destination allocations, destination CA, destination CA sub-accounts and destination factor:

DESTINATION

Amount Allocation - Account - Subaccounts - Factor

$2500/$2500 - 1000 - 99100101000, 99200101000 - 50/50

$3000/$3000 - 1100 - 99100101000, 99200101000 - 50/50

$3500/$3500 - 1200 - 99100101000, 9920010100 - 50/50

This is the ideal and desired outcome. The problem is that our current destination outcomes look like this:

Amount Allocation - Account - Subaccounts - Factor

$3000/$3000 - 1000 - 99100101000, 99200101000 - 50/50

$3000/$3000 - 1100 - 99100101000, 99200101000 - 50/50

$3000/$3000 - 1200 - 99100101000, 9920010100 - 50/50

There seems to be no recognition that the source CA account should match the destination CA account, and therefore distribute the funds relative to the allocation put into the source CA. It is currently distributing the lump sum of the source allocation into each destination account, with the ratio decided the factor value.

Is this a limitation of SL or can source and destination accounts be linked together so multiple account allocations can be made under one AGM?

Thank you for any help!
