I'm not sure if this intended behavior but here is what we are seeing. We have two price lists a standard price list which has no volume discounts (discount lists) associated with it, and a discounted list for particular situations.
If an opportunity has products associated with it under the standard price list and the Sales Manager than changes it to the discounted list the new volume discounts are associated with the opportunity products.
If an opportunity has volume discounts associated with the opportunity products and the price list is switched to the Standard Price List the volume discounts are not recalculated back to 0. The only way I can seem to get them to reset is by removing the opportunity product line after the price list has been changed to the standard price list and re-adding it. Not really Ideal.
Our sales people seem to like being able to switch to the discounted list to see what the customers cost would be before requesting the discount, and then change it back to standard.
