If I am going to install Navision Attain on a machine.
Can I install Client or do I need to install Server?

Wow! What an archaeological experience! :-)

But jokes aside, you don't need to install the server for NAV 4, it used to work in a single client mode. You don't really even need to install the client - copying the folder with the libraries and the executable should be enough, although it will require some prerequisites, like some old version of .Net framework.

When you have the client running you can open the database directly without the server tier.
