Hi ,

I have a question on ideas . How we get the portal updated as the new record in ideas forum is added automatically .

I am trying to create and edit the ideas page differently. As the feature is OOB . I am not able to find the code to edit. How  does the CRM community portal recorded are connected to the web page and template ?

Thanks in advance

    Hi Sree,

You have to use Entity Forms to show up your forms in portals -community.adxstudio.com/.../entity-form

Based on your requirement you can go for separate forms for Create and edit.

    Hi,

Use the two different entity form and web page for create and update, which can be used to show as a form in the portal

Create the necessary entity permission to that entity.

If you are using the List view in portal then use the the Grid Configuration

    Create_5F00_edit_5F00_Grid.PNG

so that you can get create button and edit aswell

    Create_5F00_edit_5F00_Grid.PNG

    Thanks,
    Srikanta

Refer this blog which has all the main components and how they are linked-

    Hi Sree,

The Ideas forum is not related to web pages and templates like some of the other functionality.  It's implemented in the Portal application code using MVC.  So unfortunately unless you can use JavaScript to accomplish what you need (by including it in the header or footer template), the Ideas functionality is not very customizable.
