I would like to create a deny permission to assign to a user to prevent him from clicking the Quantity adjustment button from the on-hand list menu (see image below). Could you suggest me what privilege or duty to deny?

Thank you

The deny permission option is usually not part of any standard privileges.

I would also advice that instead of explicitly denying access to the quantity adjustment functionality, you instead remove the privilege or duty from the roles which grants access to the functionality.

You should probably have a look at the privilege "Adjust quantity" as this is the privilege containing access to the functionality.

Figure out if the security configuration done in your D365, means that the privilege can be removed from whatever duty/role it is assigned to, or there is a need for further configuration to allow the security setup to continue to match your business requirements.

    Hi User9,

Is this for one user or all users having access to this form or a group of users belonging to a security role? Should the user be able to use this feature in case of vacation or illness from his colleagues?

Like Nikolaj mentioned, for deny, you need a specific new privilege. Depending on the exact scenario a deny permission or removing access would be recommended.

    Hi,

this is for a group of users, but i could create a new permissions (for example Customer service V_2) and remove from it the privilege that allows the user to so stock transactions.

I have tried to find the "Adjust quantity" privilege but I can't find it in our permissions..do you have another suggestion?

    Thank you

To me it sounds like you should create a new role which does not contain the access to do quantity adjustments.

The "Adjust quantity" privilege is a standard privilege and should exist in your environment, please make sure that you are using "en-us" as your language, as the privilege names are different per language. This is the only one which contains the access, unless you made some customizations.

If you open the security configuration and select privileges, then if you look at the privilege in question, you can see the references to duties by following the below screenshot.

The privilege is as you can see only referenced on one duty - if you have not made any modifications to the security configuration.

It seems that you do not have a not of experience is security configuration, so I would advise that you get a bit of assistance, before making changes to the configuration. You should of course not do changes directly in the production environment, but first in a non-prod environment where you can also test the changes you make.

    Hi,

instead of deleting the privilege inside the role, i'd prefer to create a new role with the Adjust quantity denied.

    The situation is this:

I have created a role called COS Stock deny and inside it I put the duty Maintain physical quantity adjustment. Within this duty, there are the Maintain on-hand stock records and Adjust quantity privileges and within them I have the Action menu items WMSOnlineCounting, WMSOnlineCountingAction, WHSOnHand.

I set these Action menu items to allow reading and deny update, create and delete instead.

But if I try to assign this deny permission to a user, it still manages to display the stock adjustment button. How can I do?

Please stop your process. From what you are writing you modifying the standard privileges "Maintain on-hand stock records" and "Adjust quantity".

If you modify these then all other roles using these to gain access to adjustments will not have access, resulting in no user being able to do adjustments.

If it is absolutely needed to deny access, which I do not think is the case as you see in the above comments, then you also need to set the read access to deny, as these are action menu items.

But take the advice from above and instead create a new role, which simply does not contain access to the "Adjust quantity" privilege.

Don't worry, they are all tests that I am doing in the test environment evaluating the impacts on different users. However I thought that the best solution is to create a new rulo from scratch, assigning it the action menu items shown in the previous comment but in negation. However, I will do several tests to assess the impacts. Thanks for the help!
