Mix deployment of Sales Enterprise and Customer Service Professional

Is it possible to have D365 Sales Enterprise and D365 Customer Service Professional in the same environment?

The licensing guide states this, but is not clear about different applications:

NOTE: Enterprise and Professional users may not be deployed in the same environment.

The linked terms state that you cannot mix Sales Enterprise & Sales Professional, or Customer Service Professional & Customer Service Enterprise, but not different tiers of different applications:

Mixed deployments of Dynamics 365 services
Customers may mix (i) Dynamics 365 Sales Professional and Enterprise licenses, (ii) Dynamics 365 Customer Service Professional and Enterprise licenses, or (iii) Dynamics 365 Business Central and any of the following: Dynamics 365 Finance/Finance Premium, Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management/Supply Chain Management Premium, or Dynamics 365 Project Operations licenses if,
  • Each Online Service is deployed under a separate instance, and
  • Licensed users only access instances for which they are entitled
Similar threads here seem to only discuss the different tiers of the same D365 application.

Grateful for any first hand experience.

    Hey!

The short answer is NO.  You can't have both apps deployed at the same time on the same environment. The licensing guide states precissely:  "Each online service is deployed under a separate instance".  What will happen is that
    - There's only one app, "Sales Hub". Users with Sales license (Either Enterprise or Professional) will see one app: Sales Hub
    - If you deploy Sales PRO in an environment, users with Sales Enterprise will be able to access, but they won't see as many features as they usually would have on an environment with Enterprise deployed.
    - If you deploy Sales Enterprise, users with Sales Pro might be able to access the environment (Access to tables), but when they try to perform any action, they are most likely to receive errors (as their license might not be enough to run some advanced features)

Hi Perez, thank you for the reply but I don't think that is the same scenario.

It is very clear you cannot mix Sales Professional and Sales Enterprise, because as you say they are the same application in Sales Hub.

But Customer Service is a different application in Customer Service Hub. My question is, can you have an Environment like this:

    Environment A
    Installed Applications (sharing same Dataverse):
    1. Sales Hub (from Sales Enterprise license)
    2. Customer Service Hub (From Customer Service Professional license)

I think you might be misunderstanding the question - we have run into the same issue.

The product terms say you can't mix Sales Pro and Sales Enterprise OR Customer Service Pro and Customer Service Enterprise.  We have a situation where we were planning to use Sales Pro and Customer Service Pro, but wanting to use the Chat add-on to Customer Service that is only available to Customer Service Enterprise licenses.

We are only deploying Sales Pro in the environment and no Sales Enterprise users, only a few Customer Service Enterprise users for that Chat functionality.

It seems logical that this wouldn't cause any special features to be available to users with a Sales Pro licenses, correct?
