Thanks for the response Daniele, the dimension concept is working fine for current transaction, i need to update  for existing transaction.

I added dimension action in existing customized page like posted sales request, while im posting current transactions the records updating from subform to dimension set entry table, but for previous transactions it not updating is there option to update the same process for all companies.

    Hello Yoheswaran,

As per Microsoft base, you can update the Dimension only for general Ledger Entries.

But if you want to update the dimension on remaining Posted Document, you need to do Customization for this.

Ask your developer to do this.

    Many Thanks

This concerns me as you are running the risk of your data in posted sales invoices not making the data in the general ledger with absolutely no audit trail.

I share the concerns Kim have here. You should be really careful when you manipulate the dimension on posted data because unless you are very sure about what you are doing you run a big risk of corrupting your data integrity. And your auditors might not be very happy if the sales documents have one set of dimensions and the G/L and CLE and Item ledger entries have other sets of dimensions.

So in general you should avoid manipulating dimensions. If you have used the incorrect dimensions you should correct it by issuing credit memo and new correct invoice.

Hi, I only recommend that you use the standard functions to modify the Dimension of posted documents.

    Dimension corrections (for G/L Entries)

This may cause data inconsistency if you customize it. For example, if you want to modify the dimensions of Posted Sales Invoice, it is technically feasible. But you need to consider all associated data, and these associated tables are different depending on the type of row.

    Hope this helps as well.

    Thanks.

Hello, Thank you for raising this and i'd second to Daniele Incalza.

Microsoft has given this option in the base functionality iteself.

You'll have to go to General Ledger Entries Page for that (Please refer to screenshot below)

    And just click on RUN.

It also has the option to see the History of Dimension Correction.
