Have you changed the defualt lookup? Do you use SmartSort? Do you have a .vba file on your workstation?

    Kind regards,

I went around to a number of the users and found out that only a few people are having this issue and it is the people that were playing with the new 'set as default' tool that is available in look ups.  I went to each of the users that are having this issue and checked, but I don't see any issue with the settings.  They look like that are not restricted or sorted in any way.

Is there a trick to 'undefault' the lookup?

    Thanks!

The top box should be checked and it say View: All Active Customers by Customer ID

Is this what it says in the View menu? Can they reproduce the error? When the put the seed information in the field do they have it sorting the right way?

    So many possibilities :)

    Kind regards,

    Good Day Amanda and Leslie,

I have a similar issue in our Dynamics GP 2010 R2 system... and first I thought this was a bug in the Lookup form for the Project Accounting, because when trying to pick up the Contract ID number with the lookup in the Contract Maintenance form, it doesn't work at all... But today I came across a strange case with the GL Account lookup in my Project Budget Maintenance and in company the lookup works perfectly and in the other it doesn't ... so I don't think it's a security or setting issue, because my user security is identical in both companies...

Where can I start to look for this issue ? anybody encountered this elsewhere in GP ?

Thanks in advance for your replies

    Beat

RE: lookup for inventory is not jumping to the number or letter in sequence when entered in field and lookup is clicked.

I did some researches and came across another forum post regarding lookup inconsistencies... this is the link to the discussion thread :  community.dynamics.com/.../74371.aspx

After doing some tests it came out that my GL account lookup in one company is retrieving by default the view "All Accounts; by Account Number", whereas in the other company it was using a default view "All Accounts; by Type"... which of course will never match, because the type has nothing to do with a potential number for one of the segments... So after selecting the proper view to use the "All Accounts, Main Segment", everything was working fine again...

Now the issue with the Contract ID lookup is a different one, and I think this is really a bug, because this is not like the usual lookup forms where you can select a filtered view from a smart list pre-set... The big problem with the Contracts Lookup form is that it starts with the Class ID field as primary search object... which makes no sense in a Contract ID Lookup window... So you have to use the 'Find' icon which uses by default the Contract No. as primary field... so much mouse clicks for so few information... :-(
