Hello,

Work is created but pick location on work is empty, the setups seems to be fine no issue on setup part, this happens usually not for all records. can anyone help on this?

Hi,

That happens when Item Allocation fails.

The fact that there is work indicates that there is enough inventory for system to reserve the quantity of item using the Reservation Hierarchy (Site, warehouse, inventory status, etc) but the Location Directive do not allow picking from which ever location where that inventory is stored. Normally, you would not allow work to be created without locations (unless that is wanted), so my guess is that the Location Directive Failures allow for Sales Work to be created (as below).

I would suggest:

1)confirm that Location Directive Failure to validate that we allow work to be created

2)check the Location Directive for Sales Order to see which conditions are used and which locations are allow

3) verify the location(s) where that specific item is kept with (the correct reserved inventory dimnesions)

4) Activate and check the Work Creation History Log and see why it fails

Note that some fields displayed on your screen shot (Reservation Failed and Proposed Location) are not available in standard version 10.0.43, so there could be added code that affects standard functionality; may be worth working with a developper to figure out what`s happening

Can activate the work creation history log and release the order again?

After the release, can you consult the work creation history log and check whether there is an error message?

Thank you for the replies!!

Has mentioned below setups are already enabled earlier but still the issue presists.

The fields Proposed location and Reservation failed are standard it is not customized.

Thanks for the support and Apologies on delayed response.

Actually have observed is that If we have multiple batch nos with qty and not reserved the qty this issue a raises but if we have multiple orders for same item and all the orders are reserved with batch nos then if you try to release to warehouse it works. For ex. if only one order then issue comes up....not sure on what basis this is happening.

This issue typically occurs when the location profile does not have license plate (LP) tracking enabled. Please enable LP tracking on the location profile and verify the behavior.

Hi,
Probably it is failing to pick location from Location directive.
I would suggest to check the "Work creation history" log and check on which sequence it is failing.
It may be possible that the it failing before reaching to the respective location directive sequence by matching the criteria you have given.
You will get an idea from "Work creation history" log to rectify the setup.
