Multicurrency - Table relationships

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help,

I'm trying to work out the relationships between the M/C tables in particular the MC020102 table. When items are imported through eConnect its updating the RATETPID EXGTBLID fields correctly, however I can't fathom out how it looks up the data from the simple CURNCYID that I pass through eConnect. Where does it look to find out that for Euro Sales it should use this RATETPID and that EXGTBLID?

Thanks

Tim

    I think, this is relationship with many tables such as MC40000( MC_Setup), MC40100 (MC_Rate_Type_Setup), MC40200(MC_Currency_Setup) & MC40300 (MC_Exchage_Table_Setup).

    Hope this helps!!!

    Hi,

When you create exchange tables, there are 2 "Variables" on the exchange table... A Rate Type(s) and currency.

For example you might have 1 exchange table called EURAVE, it will have the currency on this exchange table which is EUR and the rate type is Average.  You may have another exchange table called EURBUY, and it will have the currency of EUR and the rate type of Buy.

So when you are creating the transactions, you are specifying the currency = EUR.  And having passed in the currency (EUR), the only other thing that GP needs to know is...what is the rate type?  Once GP knows the rate type and currency, it knows which exchange table to use.

I believe that for eConnect if you aren't passing a rate type, it will use the rate type identified here (Setup - Financial - Multicurrency.  Here you have the Default Transaction Rate types for Financial, Sales and Purchasing).

(alternatively, it may be getting the rate type from the Customer Card:  Cards - Sales - Customer - Options)

    I hope this helps,

    Thanks,
    Jus

    Hi Jus,

So its using both the Currency and the Rate fields, that makes sense. I think I can work it out from here.

    Thanks
