Dimension value missing error in Budget

Hi all,

I'm creating a budget in BC, I only wanna use dimension for some ledger accounts, some are not.
I exported the excel template, and populated the dimension values for some ledger account, e.g. Expense and Sales account, and leave it as blank for other ledger accounts, e.g. Asset.
When I imported it into BC, I have below error message. When I populated the dimension values for all ledger accounts, there are no such error.

Is it possible to load budget in this case? I only wanna some budgets with dimension, some are not.
In COA, I didn't set any mandatory rules for dimension.

Thanks.

Don't import empty values from Excel. If You don't want to import this, then just delete the line/column from Excel, otherwise it imports a value that is empty and it is not the same as empty specially if there is a formula or something.

Could you validate the dimension value you try to import are put in correctly? If so, try to turn off the validate flag on your configuration package and try again.

    Hello,
When exporting the budget, do I select any dimension?

When exporting the budget, it only carries amounts. When you load it, you should define budget by dimensions.

    I hope I can help.

    Hi
You can analyze dividing budgets, into some with accounts with dimensions and others that do not.Or use a generic dimension that specifies a value equivalent to empty or none.

    Hello @STP,

Yes, it is possible to load a budget with dimensions for only some G/L accounts in Business Central. However, the error you’re seeing occurs because the dimension column in your Excel import contains blank values (i.e., empty strings), which BC tries to validate as actual dimension values. To fix this, ensure that dimension columns are completely blank (no spaces or invisible characters) for accounts where you don’t want to use dimensions. This tells BC to ignore the dimension for those lines instead of trying to validate a missing value.

Hope this answer will help you!
