We have a large GP client that wants to deploy web client for 500+ employees to enter employee time and expenses into Project Accounting and they would like some assurances that there will not be any performance issues.
Is anyone or does anyone have a client, that is using the web client at this point with a large number of users, that could speak to its scalability and performance when being heavily utilized. If so, could you also provide any information regarding the spec setup, how much web servers were used to manage the load balancing etc.
We are looking for some sort of benchmark for our client.
Thank you
Lonnie

Dan pretty much summed it up. :)
Hi Lonnie,
We have been involved with a handful of partners that have deployed the Web Client for 200+ users for the ESS tasks, and we have seen them functioning and working well. It's hard to give solid benchmarks, since every environment is different, but what I can say is that if you're planning your environment around the requirements spelled out in this Web Apps System Requirements page, the framework should be able to handle that much traffic.
The main performance issue that has come up in a handful of support cases has been an underpowered server being stretched with too many users logging in at one time or accessing the Web Client in large spurts. This issue isn't solely with large deployments; an under-powered server won't be able to service 25 simultaneous users if it doesn't fit in the guidelines. Generally speaking, if you stick to the server recommendations in the document, and plan and test extensively for your environment, the Web Client can work great for a large deployment.
