Can Management Reporter RU12 be installed on SQL 2005?  Will it work with GP 2010?

I can not swear to it, but I think I had a client running MR only in TEST against GP 2010 while we were running up the production rollout.

It was for a short period of time, but I don't recall the full details.  I will reach out to them and get back to you.

    Rachel,

It is always best in these instances to refer to the System Requirements documentation provided by Microsoft.

    Management Reporter System Requirements

    support.microsoft.com/.../2742178

    Dynamics GP 2010 System Requirements

    mbs.microsoft.com/.../MDGP2010_System_Requirements

Dynamics GP 2010 is supported by current versions of Management Reporter, and SQL 2005 SP3 is supported by Dynamics GP 2010, so by extension, Management Reporter will work with SQL 2005 SP3 (so check your SQL version).

You can do this by opening SQL Server Management Studio and Querying your master database with the following SQL statement:

    select @@version

As noted by Harry, and I can confirm with active clients running - the configuration of SQL 2005 and GP2010 will work.

Please take note that there are a few SP's that you will want to make sure you have in place, but, out of the box for testing purpose the system will work.

It cannot be installed on SQL 2005 ver. Gives you a nice message if you attempt.

Yes, it will work with GP2010

Open SQL Server management Studio and type the following query:

    Select @@Version

And then Execute.  This will display the exact version and service pack you have installed. I believe the documentation referenced above indicated SQL 2005 SP3 was supported. If SP3 has not been installed on your 2005 SQL Server, you'll need to upgrade.
