Deleting Item variants

Hello,

When I try to delete an item variant, I see a warning that says "you cannot delete item variant because there are one or more outstanding production orders that include this item".

I deleted and finished all the production orders but I continue getting same error. I have also checked Firm Planned orders and there isn't any. I don't know why Nav is saying there are outstanding production orders when there are none. Can someone please help. Thanks!

I have the same question (0)

I suggest to try to debug. It seems that you have some Production Order Lines with Outstanding Quantity > 0.

Have you checked the orders in process? These orders in process may be the one that causes that error for you.

You could also try restarting the application and see if the problem persists.

Hi, there are no production orders at all at this moment. I'm in the "test" database and I deleted all orders when I saw this warning but it continues showing.

    Hi,

I have no production orders at all. I also deleted sales orders, however this doesn't seem to be the issue.

open tables prod. order line and prod. order component directly and check if the item variant is part of one line.

    RE: Deleting Item variants

in that case it's better, that a developer or support engineer debugs the deletion of the item variant.

seems, that there is an other reason for the error message.

maybe there is a prod. order in the table, which is not shown in the list, but is the cause for the error.

you could check if there is a filter activated in the prod. order list. clear all filters.

additional press strg+shift+f1 to show the page details of the prod. order list page to check if there are hidden filters.

In web client try to add ?page=5406 in address bar.

For cloud version the url would look: businesscentral.dynamics.com/

That should give you list of all production order lines. Filter them by Item No, then by Variant Code. That's how you will see the production order that still refers that that variant.

I assume it will be finished production order.

Thank you, yes, we might ask a developer. And yes, I have cleared out filters, and nothing shows.

Yes, we believe is looking at the finished production orders. In this case, we cannot remove anything from them because we cannot make changes to finished production orders.
