hello,

How can I reset web notification entities, I am not able to add or remove entities within the Web Notification solution, please see attached screenshot, I tried clicking on enable notifications and switching the portal off and on from the Admin page in office 365 but that didn't help

    Martyna,

The portal add-on for Microsoft Dynamics CRMOL 2016 Update 1 does not use Web Notifications. The caching mechanism has been replaced with an Event Hub. I believe the WebNotification solution and the ability to configure it were included as this function may potentially be needed in the future if an "on-prem" or self-hosted version of the portal add-on becomes available.

It is likely that they work, but they are not needed and will only add a larger load to the amount of work your CRM is currently processing. Web Notifications have not been tested with the current version of the portal add-on. I highly recommend reverting any changes you have made within the WebNotification Solution and deleting any Web Notification URL records you may have created. Please also note that the /cache.axd and /SearchIndex.axd handlers are no longer valid.

    Hi Patrick,

Can you point us to more details about configuring caching using the Event Hub methodology? We are in development for a project to go live this October and cannot easily verify whether issues we see are related to our portal configuration or to caching. Is there a way to globally disable caching?

    Thanks,
    Jimmy
