Restrict User Posting

Within Microsoft Dynamics SL, I need to figure out how to restrict user posting.

In particular, I need to know how to restrict the ability to post entries to a prior period as well as to restrict entering a duplicate invoice.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

If you are using SL 2011 or later, you can change your GL Setup to prevent posting to a closed period as the default setting.  Then, if you have an actually need to post to a prior period you can turn on initialize mode when executing the post transactions screen or you can temporarily change the GL Setup screen to allow such a posting.

AP already checks for duplicate invoices (vouchers) but only if you set it to do that (see AP Setup /Other options).

In GL setup is a Posting option that allows/prevents posting to a closed fiscal period.  Same for posting to a prior fiscal year.

I don't know a way to restrict entering a dup invoice.   In AP you can check based upon amt but no such trigger exists in AR.
