Possible to reference a global Action for an OOB workflow?

Hi All!

I have created a custom Action with Entity as 'None (global)' (see screenshot below)

Is it possible to use this Action in an OOB workflow?
So far, I am only able to execute Actions which have the entity selected as the same entity of the Action.

I am aware of how to execute the Action from a plugin / custom workflow / JavaScript.
Just wondering if there was no easy way to call it from the GUI designer.

Hi Shidin,

I confirm this behavior - you will not be able to select an action with None(Global) as entity in your workflow.

I am just not able to find any documentation related to it.

Hi,

you should be able to use Perform Action with global actions, but it's probably that "EntityReference" parameter that's not allowing it.

You are right Alex.

As long as the EntityReference is in there, I cannot reference it anywhere else on the GUI interface.

As a workaround, what I intend to do now is pass the Entity name as a string parameter, along with the 'Record Dynamic URL' and use some string manipulation to get this done.

Not pretty, but will have to make do.
