The risk when changing Company Name

I changed the Company Name in Companies Page. It seems system allow to change the Name, it takes a few minute to complete. It also changes table in Database automatically.

But I wonder that is there any risk of change Company Name

Has anyone tried this action before ? and are there any risks for this change ?

Are there any steps must be follow after rename the Name ?

    Hi Peter 

    You are using on prem or cloud env and which version?

    Best would be to rename the company while working in / working from another company 

    Try to change the company name in Cronus database and check the change.

    You can Change the Display Name of the company as the Sql table are based on id fields in company table

    I  using on prem, BC 2021 Wave 1

    Change the Display Name is not problem, so I feel easy to change Display Name.

    its not recommended to change anything from backend

    Hi, For the end user, although not recommended, I don't think it's risky.
    But if you use API or Web Service, all endpoints need to be updated.

    I forgot about API and Web Service.

    I will update if there is any issue after changing the Name of Company. If there is any error, it should not change Name.

    The system will work fine after a name change of the company. Can be time consuming on large databases and create locks while the process is running.

    And of course if you have integrations they might need to be updated.
