CRM2013 On-Premises - iPad App Issues

Afternoon all,

We run an on premises deployment of CRM 2013, its currently running build 6.1.0000.0581 (SP1 no rollup). We have recently had a need to get the system accessible via the iPad application. With the deployment having both Claims Based Authentication and IFD enabled, and with it running a reasonably up to date build (certainly up to date enough to support tablet connectivity) we assumed it would be straight forward.

However, when we load the app up, and type in our CRM web URL, we are met with the "Your server is not available or does not support this application" error.

Can anyone confirm the SSL requirements? As I believe the deployment is currently self signed. Will this pose an issue with the app?

We also authenticate through an ADFS portal on desktops, will this interfere with the App?

Information on this is pretty scarce online, and it seems we already tick all the boxes that should be ticked for 2013 app integration.

Ideas??

Cheers in advance, Dave.

    Hi Dave,

    Please see below points

    1) IFD configuration is must if we can CRM tabs user in tabs and phones

    2) We must have a valid cert brought from a CA but if you have SSL certificate it can be used only if tab is added to domain plus only for test/development purpose only and should not be used in production as when you will move to actual certificate it will mess so many things that  then using actually valid certificate will start causing issue on tab which was using SSL for that CRM deployment

    • Are all the users of CRM facing this issue ?
    • Check links http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531131.aspx and http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn531170.aspx
    • If a set of users are facing this issue, do all of them belong to a specific security role ?
    • Is this issue seen by users of your CRM organization only on IPad devices and not in other devices like Windows and Android devices ?
    • Did you try to uninstall and re-install the App and tried to login ? If not, could you please try the same and let me know the behavior.
    • Did you try logging to your CRM organization via browser in your phone ? If yes, could you please let me know the behavior.
    • Did you try to login to your CRM organization via CRM App on a different phone or tablet other than Ipad? If yes, could you please let me know the behavior.
    • Did you try to login any different CRM organization on the same app ?
    • Are you connected to Wi-Fi or using your service provider data ? If not using Wi-Fi, could you please connect to  it and try.
