Use Machine Learning for Demand forecast planning - D365 on premise

Dear Community,

when looking on Demand forecast planning it is great that there is the possibilty to choose the ML Model/algorithm.

From microsoft docs I found some information: there are cloud based and on-premise options. Checking f.e. Microsoft Machine Learning Server as a possibility instead of Azure Machine Learning Studio (classic), digging deeper to how to install on Windows https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/machine-learning/install/sql-machine-learning-services-windows-install?view=sql-server-ver15 it seems like it is working without being on the azure cloud. But in some articles I found following https://robsd365blog.com/2018/01/02/setting-up-d365fo-demand-forecasting-with-azure-machine-learning/ and https://community.dynamics.com/ax/b/axinthefield/posts/consume-azure-machine-learning-services-in-microsoft-dynamics-365-for-finance-and-operations.

Now, since the application D365 F&O is on-premise, which possibilities do I have to use my ML Algos + to train my model on-premise?

Thank you very much.

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Punchili,

I would recommend posting this, and any additional questions, as new questions in the forum.

    Thank you in advance.

    hi to everyone,

if I will use an SQL Server on premise, my data which is used is stored on premise, I still need the Azure Machine Learning Account, because there I can find some predefined algorithms?

If I would like to use my own scripts with my own algorithms, there is the possibilty to run them directly on my SQL Server, right? Then I can create my own algos to receive forecasts...?

With an API I can then transfer them to my application D365? But where can I tell D365 to use this data instead of Azure ML results? In the Demand forecasting paramaters there is no possibilty? Will tis be a modification?

Thank you. Hope my questions are clear... I am just starting to investigate in this topic.

...sorry, in the articles there is written you still need an Azure Machine Learning Account.

    Thx again.
