Solution Publishing is very slow.

Hi,

Many times we face the issue of slow solution publishing.

Every time on Publishing any Solution is very slow, and the "No response for many pages...Please wait or close the pages" box always pops-out.

Does anyone have an idea why this issue occurs?

Thanks

    Hi,

Just curious, does the issue with all solutions including simple patches? usually the components involved in solution will be locked in DB level and they doesnt respond until the job done

    Hi Aakarsh,

I get what you mean, i have the same experience every single day, especially on CRM Online instances.

    Two things to consider here,

    01. CRM Import process

    02.  Browser network connection timeout setting - Chrome prompting to wait or exit is just the browser setting. Even if you exit solution import or solution publish you started will carry on in the background. You could look into increasing the timeout to get rid of this annoying pop-up or perhaps you could do the import on IE or Edge.

The import process could be slow for the following reasons

    01. If you have loads of components in your solution, especially the ones  with loads of dependencies and also the ones that needs deactivating and activating during the import. Lets say you have a workflow that takes 10 seconds to deactivate or activate,  and if you have lets say 10 of those, this will easily add to your import time. In short i found its the components in the solution that dictates the time it takes to import in most cases

    02. I also had scenarios where if the instance health is low, or its in partial maintenance status, or if resource allocation is really slow, then the import process takes longer as well but this happens only occasionally

    Hi Aakarsh,

This may be due to a browser issue.

Please clear your browser cache or change another browser to see if it works.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Lu Hao
