When Items are not found in the database, RMS is only pop up the message on the screen. I want a scanner to make a buzzer or different sounds when it catchs an items are not in the database. anyone know how to setup a scanner to make a buzzer or multi-sound or keep silence when RMS catching the items are not found in the database?
Thanks for informations,
Hai Lam

Thank you very much for your response Jeff, I will definitely try that round. But I know for sure that some pos systems that were able to turn the scanner on and off by reading the barcode. I don't know how they can do it, but I had been seen they demo that before. I don't know about the capability of the RMS system.
Anyway, thank you very much

OMG, Jeff, I never noticed that!
Brilliant as usual!

Understand what you are hearing. The sound you hear indicates a good/bad read of the barcode by the scanner, not whether its exists in the RMS database.
What need to do is turn up your speakers so that the Windows error message is heard if the item isn't found.
You can write (or I could write it for you...) a hook against the AddItem hook to do that.
