Business Card Scanner?

(0) ShareShare

Howdy friends,

I've been doing a lot of events lately and the business card pile is becoming an issue.  Has anyone had success with business card scanners and CRM Online?  Any ideas or product recommendations would be much appreciated.

Best regards,

Bill

    Hi,

There is an issue with Outlook contacts scanned from business cards, it seems these contacts are set with a specific Outlook contact class behind the scenes which the CRM client can't deal with, what I mean is if you scan business cards into outlook and attempt to track them they will fail to be tracked.

    Hope this helps

There are a couple of options:

    Scan2MSCRM: www.card-reader.com/scan_to_microsoft_crm.htm

    IrisCard: www.irislink.com/.../IRISCard-Anywhere-5---Cardiris-5---Business-Card-Recognition.aspx

The problem Nuno is referring to affects CardScan who dropped support for Dynamics CRM and salesforce.com integration when the company was acquired by Dymo.

Thanks Neil.  Are there any limitations in using these with CRM Online?

I haven't tested them with CRM Online, unfortunately. But you should contact the vendors and ask (if it's not already stated on their website). If you get it wrong and buy a scanner that doesn't work with CRM Online, you can probably return it to the vendor.

    Hi Bill

Just wondering if you found a solution to this? I have a client with same requirements as you. I've read through the CardIris admin document and it says it supports CRM Online but the on-premise versions it supports is only 4 and 2011 so it doesn't look promising. I've emailed them anyway so hoping to hear back soon.

    thanks

    Andrew

I know this question is a little old, but wanted to chime in - you might want to check out FullContact Card Reader as a tool to scan business cards into MS Dynamics CRM.

    • It uses real people to transcribe the business cards - so it's more accurate than OCR-based scanners.
    • You can customize field mapping and other automation options to better support your Microsoft Dynamics CRM workflow.
    • Apps are available for iPhone, iPad, Android Phone, and Android Tablet.
    • If you have a team, we offer a Card Reader for Teams plan that gives you bulk pricing discounts.

(I'm obviously biased, because I work for FullContact - but I saw the question and wanted to throw it out there in case any of you were still looking for a solution).

Happy to answer any questions, if anyone has them. Best of luck!

    Hi,

I'm about three years late with my answer, but anyways :)

LiiD for CRM, which is an app that integrates with Microsoft Dynamics CRM has that functionality (www.liid.com). Here is a short video on how to use the business card scanner: www.youtube.com/watch In addition to this, LiiD can also be used for logging calls, meetings and emails to Dynamics.

Hi everyone, there are not pretty much business card scanning apps that can transfer information to MS Dynamics CRM. My friends have used this one for Android - play.google.com/.../details;hl=en, but I was using Iphone and this was not the option for me, but a few weeks ago I have discovered that this app is finally available on AppStore! You can check this link - itunes.apple.com/.../id1272696505
