Management Reporter row definition

ReportReport
Posted on by 480

I am migrating from FRx to Management Reporter.  In FRx, some rows are calculated by using the natural account (i.e. 5000) and then subtracting accounts with certain sub-account numbers (i.e. ??-????-5000-9000).  In MR the accounts with the 9000 sub-account are not subtracting from the total.  Below are the exact row definitions for both:

FRx:  5000 +(5203) -(10-6200-5000-9000) -(12-6200-5000-9000) -(16-6200-5000-9000)

MR:  +Account = [5000] -Company = [10], Department = [6200], Account = [5000], Sub-account = [9000] -Company = [12], Department = [6200], Account = [5000], Sub-account = [9000] -Company = [16], Department = [6200], Account = [5000], Sub-account = [9000]

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Matthew,

I tested this in my system (2.1.1029.30) and confirm it is working correctly. What version of MR are you using?

I am on the same version.  It's not just the row above that is not functioning correctly when modifying the row with a minus sign.  I have tried manipulating the system by having the negative on a line by itself, but it still does not pull it into the report.

    Thank you,

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

If you are not able to get the line to pull in on its own row, that suggests a problem with the data or possibly the rest of the report design. Can you narrow it down even further and confirm you get data on lines that pull just the 5000 natural? If that works, try adding various subaccounts and confirm those work on their own lines. Some additional things to try for troubleshooting purposes is that you aren't using a tree and that the column layout is very simple. Try narrowing it down as far as possible to find where it is breaking.

I am getting the same problem. Up until this month my report worked fine as expected but now instead of subtracting the specific sub accounts it is adding them.  I have managed to run it by excluding the specific sub accounts but I do not want to have to go back to all my reports to make this change. The definition is +Department = SET(WW R+D), Account = SET(Salaries) -Department = SET(WW R+D), Account = SET(Salaries), Sub-Analysis = [80:81].

Instead of deducting sub analysis [80:81] it is adding them again.

    RE: Management Reporter row definition

I solved the problem by changing my default company to the main company.  The default company was previously a foreign subsidiary so that I could set up translation of foreign currency to US dollars.
