Where is the MC40000.* files that are located in the company finance directory

I am trying to adjust the beginning balance entries and using the following document to attempt this:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/857310/how-to-adjust-the-beginning-balance-entries-after-you-perform-a-year-e

In step 2, in the notes section it says:

  • If Multicurrency in Microsoft Dynamics GP is not registered, rename the MC40000.* files that are located in the company Finance directory.

I have looked everywhere and even googled it with no luck. Any ideas where this location is?

I'm using GP 2015

Thanks

Brad

The MC40000 is located in your company database. So if your database name is MYCMP it will be SELECT * FROM MYCMP..MC40000

    Hi  Brad,

Agree with Richard.. That KB article sound very strange.. I've never seen a MC40000.* file and wouldn't even know what Finance directory is meant in that paragraph...

Make sure you have a valid backup, and then proceed with the other steps..

The folder reference is coming from the old ctree/Btrieve days when each table you see now were individual files. This gives you an idea when that KB was originally written. Nowadays the table is either in the DYNAMICS database or in your company database.

Makes sense..  Since the KB refers to pretty old GP versions..

Thank you both. I plan on doing this in our test environment first. I'm not brave enough to test in Prod. LOL

Excellent, glad to see someone try things out in test before deploying to production. Let us know how it goes.
