Purchase Requisition Entry and Analytical Accounting

Posted on by 785

We're testing the use of Analytical Accounting in the Purchase Requisition Entry window for a client and are finding that in the "Analytical Purchase Requisition Entry" window where we assign dimensions, we can't use the F2 or looking glass icon to select a dimension. It works fine from a Purchase Order or GJ entry so I believe I have AA set up properly also I can manually enter key them into the cell. This appears to be the case for GP2015 RTM and R2.  Has anyone seen a work-around to this?

Our testing of this issue revealed that Light Users are not enabled for what MS considers a data entry function and not part of the Self-Service functionality.  Full users should be able to access this.

You are absolutely right Daniel, this work-around solution was specifically made for the rich client, not the web.

In most cases, the web client is the primary source of requisitions, and I will definitely proceed with providing another fix for the web client just in case it was not resolved in the next Dynamics GP release.

Thanks for the temporary fix which works perfectly in the full client. Unfortunately it doesn't work in the Web Client where the majority of our requisitions raise their requisitions. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

An update on this issue, Dynamics Innovations has developed a temporary solution. It is a dll file that can be placed under the Addins folder within Microsoft Dynamics GP. Further details can be found on Analytical Purchase Requisition Entry - Dimension Code Lookup is not working (Temporary Customized Solution)

All my appreciations to Mr. Ibrahim Omran; Development Manager at Dynamics Innovations for his considerable efforts.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

    You are most welcome Bob,

It's definitely critical to get this fixed, retrieving dimension codes is a bottleneck in the requisition cycle (where analytical accounting details are included).  For the meantime, make sure to share vote on the MSConnect link; which is provided in the article above.

Thanks Mahmoud! After posting here last month I went ahead and created a support ticket confirming the same. I hopeful we'll see this resolved in a patch release quickly.

    Hello Bob

Hope you are doing just well

It seems that this is a bug in the recent Dynamics GP 2015 R2. After troubleshooting on the SQL profiler, it seems that the button has no associated event at all (not executing any commands).

I will make sure to report this on the MSConnect in order to notify the support team.
