Fix Asset Error when posting acquisition cost

Dear All,

How do we resolve this error message when we trying to post Acquisition cost for new FA ?

" FA posting type acquisition cost must be posted in the general journal .in FA journal line journal template name = asset, journal batch name = asset, line no

Is the depreciation book linked to the G/L? You can check on the depreciation card page - just search for depreciation book. If so then you must use the Fixed Asset G/L Journal instead of the Fixed Asset Journal

Josh is correct. Look below at example... If you have G/L Integration turned on, you MUST use the FA G/L Journal or Purchase Order/Invoice to add a Fixed Asset Acquisition.
